Well, it's official...
The traffic headed north on 360 from 2222 has been particularly disgusting the last few days and now my commute is longer than it was when I lived in Copperfield and commuted to downtown Houston.
At least there, I had the opportunity to ride the bus -- it wasn't any faster, but I could sneak in a little quiet-time to (and fro).
School should be out in just a few days and hopefully that will alleviate some of the strain (summer trips and all...). I just think 360 is doomed to have horrible traffic and of course, with all the offices that were vacant in 2000 ramping their occupancy back up, that just means 10x as many cars with a single driver in them.
John and I try to carpool at least a couple times a week, but he telecommutes on Thursdays. And I generally have one or two days a week where I've got early-morning gigs (like Reveille) or afternoon fun (like the 8-Minute Ripple).
A long time ago, I had some "Let's Learn German" cassettes that I would listen to when commuting. Maybe it's time to dig those up and transcribe them to my iPod...
I've also thought about rotating my work schedule around so that I'm not on the road when most people are. That's tough on biz, though.
